Join us in one of downtown Des Moines’ most distinguished recent additions—the Krause Gateway Center, designed by the internationally renowned architect Renzo Piano, and located across from the striking views of the Pappajohn Sculpture Park.

The celebration begins at 5:30 with cocktails on the beautiful grounds of the Krause Gateway Center, followed by dinner indoors with shimmering vocal fireworks delivered by DMMO’s mainstage artists. After dessert, the festivities swing onto the dancefloor with the Diamond Empire Band, who will be joined by the vocal stylings of DMMO's own John Holiday for a few special musical selections!

Stay tuned for the full Golden Gala menu developed by Chef Michael LaValle.

Joining Diamond Empire Band for a few select numbers is countertenor John Holiday, who has established himself as “one of the finest countertenors of his generation” (Los Angeles Times). His voice has been praised as “a thing of astonishing beauty” (New Yorker), “arrestingly powerful, secure and dramatically high” (Wall Street Journal), “exceptional [and] strong...even in its highest range” (The New York Times) and “timeless” (Washington Post). Holiday’s unique voice and powerful story have been the subject of profiles in The New Yorker, CNN’s Great Big Story, Los Angeles Times, and more.

John made his DMMO debut in 2018 singing the role of the Refugee in Dove/de Angelis' Flight and will return this summer for an exciting role debut as the Fairy King Oberon in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
