Des Moines Metro Opera, Des Moines Film, and Proteus, Inc. will present a screening of the acclaimed 1992 film adaptation of Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. Following the film, DMMO and Proteus will lead a discussion exploring the history and lived experiences of Iowa farmworkers, offering meaningful local context to Steinbeck’s story and highlighting Proteus’s important work of supporting agricultural communities across the state.
The screening will take place at the beautiful Varsity Cinema on Saturday, April 18 at 1:00 PM (CT). Tickets are $20.
